Thanks so much for all your well wishes, and willingness to participate, promote and support our first King of Kings Unity  concert, which is the second day event of the annual Unity Walk.

It was a LOT of work, but all went well. We had Gospel comedy,  dance, mimegospel rap, a singing MC, D-Rock from radio station WGOK , a host of Holy Hip-Hoppers and Loretta Handy-Jackson from the "old school" to volunteer to be our headliner. Our goal is to bridge the generation gap with these concerts; to promote UNITY between the ages, and it worked out just fine; we had old and young performers.
The concert was documented on film and still photos by Jim Hart. The still shots will be available on the website very soon and a DVD of the Unity Walk and The Concert will be on sale as a fundraiser to help us do this again next year. We will also have a compilation CD of the performers available in two weeks for a love offering to continue to promote these concerts (contact info below).

Kudos to Greg Cyprian, Assistant Manager of the Neighborhood and Community Services and The Gospel News for your support. You are  much appreciated.
KCPI radio out of Baton Rouge came here to simulcast and televise the event both days on the Internet. We also had WKRG, Channel 5 come out to give us coverage, and we had so much food that we were begging the people to come back to get more hamburgers, hotdogs, Bar-B-Que Beef sandwiches, fried fish, Popsicles,  peanuts, cake and boxes of toys, books, magazines and CD's we had to give away that was donated by the wonderful businesses and merchants in Mobile.. I couldn't stop grinning.
Our headliner was missing a singer and they called me up to sing background with them  It was Big fun! We had a gospel comedienne, Nancy Malone-Cooks who had them rollin' in the grass, and,Gethsemane cemetery put up two big tents for us so the people would not have to sit in the sun to watch the concert. It seemed that everyone came through at the last minute...even a few hotels,Admiral Semmes, Holiday Inn, and Mobile Adventure Inn, gave us some rooms for the people that came from out-of-town. The Lord worked his mysterious wonders for us. , and we have so many people to thank for His favor. A certificate
of appreciation will be sent to our many participants and supporters, and a volunteer recognition is in the planning because they are too numerous to list in this e-mail.

Our headliner was Loretta Williams (now Loretta Handy-Jackson). She once was a headliner for The Otis Redding Revue. Her hit songs were "Missing You" and "Baby Cakes". There is a write-up about her on the internet. She is author of the book,"The Woman Who Lived Twice" and an evangelist, Pastor of Second Chance AOH Church here in Mobile. She gave her testimony about how she lived twice before she sang, and she brought the house down

The Holy Hip-Hoppers had everybody (old and young) bouncin' to the beats and waving their hands in the air like they just didn't care  Performers photos are at the King of Kings websitekingofkingsconcerttour.yolasite.com

We had people who were regular listeners of KCPI call from Baton Rouge requesting that we bring the concert to their city. We have two promoter there, so it looks like Baton Rouge will be the next stop for the King of Kings tour. We are letting go and letting God direct this tour, and it's incredible to watch how He works.

Peace love and blessing to all of you. You are a part of something that started out as little that God is makingMUCH.

Theola Bright
